Fiat will be launching its new electric 500 in LA at the end of the month. The first official images of the Fiat 500e have been revealed just days out from the electric city car’s unveiling at the 2012 Los Angeles motor show on November 30.
Fiat is keeping tight-lipped on the details of the 500e until its LA debut, but we know its on sale in California from 2013 and it’s likely to have a range of about 100 miles from a six-hour charge.
The Fiat 500e is made to look different from its petrol versions brothers by its Low rolling resistance tyres, white lower front intake panel, unique side skirts, aero-enhancing alloy wheels, many other aerodynamic tweaks, dashboard buttons instead of a gearshift and a revised instrument cluster headline the changes to the cabin, which largely carries over from the internal combustion-engined model.
Fiat’s owner Chrysler won’t make any money on the 500e, the company could lose as much as $10,000 on every one.
