A group of eight judges from PBS’ MotorWeek editorial staff has chosen the 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan as its Drivers’ Choice Award for Best Luxury Sedan.

“The CTS has become actual competition against European cars,” said Ben Davis, MotorWeek road test editor. “All of the sophistication you would expect to find in a worthy sport sedan are there. From its Magnetic Ride Suspension to its powerhouse Twin Turbo V6.”

The CTS finished ahead of more than 18 vehicles eligible in the category. Criteria for judging included performance, technology, practicality, fuel efficiency and dollar value.

“The all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan delivers crafted design, thrilling performance and sophisticated technology,” said David Leone, Global Cadillac executive chief engineer. “The recognition from MotorWeek lends further credibility to the new CTS elevating the brand to new levels in every direction.”

CTS last year was named Motor Trend Car of the Year, one of Car and Driver’s 10 Best, and Road & Track’s 2013 Luxury Car. The 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan was the MotorWeek “Best of the Year” Drivers’ Choice award winner, as well as the MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Best Sport Sedan.

The 2014 CTS offers with three powertrains. A 272-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is standard and EPA-rated for 20/30 mpg city/highway. A 321-hp naturally aspirated V-6 is available. Rear-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is optional. Exclusive to the rear-wheel-drive CTS Vsport is the all-new 420-hp 3.6-liter Cadillac Twin-Turbo V-6 engine.

The 2014 CTS is also the first Cadillac vehicle to receive the brand’s eight-speed automatic. Pricing starts at $46,025, including a $925 destination charge.
