The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced that its 2012 Focus ST will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, after the hot-hatch has seen daylight for the first time in September, at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new generation of the popular Focus ST is powered by the 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine which is developing a total output of 247 horsepower and has a peak torque of 265 lb-ft, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Ford says that its five-door hatch can accelerate from 0 to 62 mpg in 6.5 seconds with the transmission mentioned above and its top speed will be limited at 154 mph, which will be more than enough to get your kids to school and then have some with the vehicle on your way to work.
The 2012 model year Ford Focus ST is expected to go on sale in the United States early next year and the high-performance version will be sold in 40 markets over-seas.
Ford will announce more details about the Focus ST’s performance, fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, standard features and price close to its launch date.
