The production of “important to the future” 2016 Nissan Maxima launched in Smyrna

2016 Nissan Maxima

While Maxima boasts all the sophistication of a luxury sedan, the newly restyled Nissan Maxima is in its rule to produce an important to the future of the car in the Smyrna Manufacturing and Assembly Plant.

The restyled “flagship sedan” will provide a template for all Nissan’s U.S. offerings with a refreshed Altima and Sentra due out later this year, the unrelenting power of its 3.5-L V6 engine delivers quick acceleration, and the lasting euphoria you get from being behind the wheel of a sports car.

“This is a very important car,” said John Martin, Nissan’s senior vice president, manufacturing, supply chain management and purchasing. “This sets the bar for our styling evolution.”

This spacious 5-seater was crafted with care, while keeping every single passenger in mind. Premium materials, an available heated steering wheel, rear bucket seats, and an optional dual-panel moonroof spell first-rate comfort – and memorable stargazing.

Today’s launch of the all-new Maxima is the beginning of an exciting year for Nissan’s U.S. line-up, with new versions of the Altima, Sentra and TITAN due later this year,” said John Martin, Nissan’s senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing. “New models produced at our U.S. plants in Smyrna, Tennessee and Canton, Mississippi helped to propel Nissan to nearly 1.4 million sales in the U.S. in 2014, and vehicles like the all-new Maxima will help us eclipse that record this year.”

The Nissan Smyrna Plant began operations in 1983 and employs more than 8,400 people. In 2014, the Smyrna plant assembled more than 648,000 vehicles, making it the highest-producing automotive assembly plant in North America. Smyrna employees currently build the award-winning Altima, Maxima, all-electric LEAF, Rogue crossover, Pathfinder SUV and Infiniti QX60 luxury crossover.

With an aggressive silhouette – and the power to match – Maxima embodies refinement and style. Fenders that crouch low over dark-finished, available 19″ alloy wheels, and dual mufflers that show off its throaty roar accentuate its commanding stance. The innovative valve design, coupled with variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust ports, helps generate incredible torque for off-the-line acceleration and improved power at higher engine speeds.
