It’s the fun little car which never seems to age – and yet the Mazda MX5 is a quarter of a century old this year.
Believe it or not, Mazda unveiled its sporty roadster to the motoring world at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. Few could have predicted, back then, that the MX5 would not only still be around 25 years on, but still as fresh and popular as ever, closing in on sales of one million, and about to launch its fourth version.
In a fast-moving industry, with electric vehicles and hybrid versions now being developed as standard, that kind of longevity deserves acknowledgement. Take a look at the infographic here to see how the MX5 had moved with the times.
