‘Ultimate Mini’ Heading to U.S.

Mini enthusiasts in the United States will, after all, get a chance to buy the hot-looking John Cooper Works World Championship 50.

This so-called “ultimate Mini,” announced last year at the Mini United Festival in England, is limited to a run of 250 vehicles, none of which were to be sold in the United States. Ford Explorer to Get 4-Cylinder EcoBoost Engine

Ford Motor announced that it will expand its line of EcoBoost engines by launching three new power plants before the end of the year. EcoBoost is Ford’s brand name for an engine technology package that optimizes engine efficiency through turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable camshaft timing.

Scheduled for production in the United States are a 2-liter 4-cylinder for the next-generation Explorer S.U.V. and the Edge, and a 3.5-liter V-6 for the F-150 pickup truck. The European market will get a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder. All three engines will replace larger engines and will reportedly provide similar or enhanced performance, while reducing emissions and improving fuel economy.

Now, the reason is not because Secret Service are bad guys. It’s because the cars that I’m in are like tanks.”
