The 2010 SEMA Show will mark the debut of the all-new Toyota Prius PLUS Performance Package, a new hybrid performance line by Toyota Racing Development (TRD). Developed to meet the evolving demands of the growing hybrid segment, PLUS enhances the driving experience for Toyota hybrid enthusiasts by offering cool and fun accessories that add sporty looks with performance handling. The new PLUS package also features several Toyota accessories that complement the Prius’ core values of Eco and Advanced Technology. The end result is a more fun-to-drive, performance-enhanced Prius that maintains its industry-leading fuel efficiency.
The Prius PLUS Performance Package starts with a seven-piece aerodynamic body kit including a uniquely styled rear diffuser, which enhances its already sleek appearance and maintains its 0.25 coefficient of drag. The aero kit also includes front and rear bumper spoilers and side skirts, which are complemented by race-inspired 17-inch forged wheels. Their higher strength-to weight ratio assists in keeping the corner weight down and performance up, while maintaining the Prius’ overall light vehicle weight and high fuel efficiency. The wheels are fitted with low profile 215/45R17 tires and have a custom offset, which increases track width yet maintaining Prius’ rolling resistance.

The RK Collection Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition makes its public debut at the 2010 SEMA Show. The special two-door Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition was developed by RK Collection (RKC) to assist Toyota Racing Development (TRD) in visualizing the virtues of a standard Camry and morphing them into a powerful NASCAR counterpart.
The project was the visionary inspiration of Rob Kauffman, founder of RKC and co-owner of the NASCAR team Michael Waltrip Racing. The project was developed with the dual purpose of building and running a high-performance street legal Toyota Camry with a NASCAR engine. In partnership with TRD, RKC brought the concept to life with illustrations and a technical specs outline, rebuilding this one-of-a-kind high performance street machine. The vehicle was designed to showcase the technical alliance between TRD and RKC and demonstrate the connection between Toyota’s production vehicles and its strong NASCAR program.

The Tacoma X-Runner RTR (Ready to Race) project pickup truck, which will make its public debut at the 2010 SEMA Show, is an exercise in demonstrating Toyota’s engineering prowess by creating an in-house, high performance vehicle through the utilization of Toyota parts. As a result, the Tacoma RTR is a “parts bin” build with all but a few components currently available on Toyota products (traction bars and drive-line shaft are the only two non-Toyota parts).
The Tacoma X-Runner RTR achieves its performance credentials by dropping in a completely stock, current-generation Tundra 5.7-liter V8 engine into the unmodified engine bay along with a six-speed automatic transmission. A Toyota Racing Development (TRD) Supercharger Kit was added, bringing the SAE certified power stats to 504 horsepower and 550 lb.-ft. of torque. The truck runs on premium gas rather than race fuel.
