In which we bring you motoring news from around the Web:
• A software mapping glitch has been faulted for the stalling and rough idling experienced by owners of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, the rear-drive sport coupes co-developed by the Japanese automakers. As a fix, Toyota and Subaru are offering to reset affected vehicles’ engine control units, or E.C.U.’s, if the vehicles have fewer than 100 miles on the odometer. If they have more than 100 miles, the unit will be replaced at no cost to the owner of an FR-S, but Subaru insists the resetting, or reflash, of the E.C.U. would sufficiently address the problem and is not offering to replace it for the BRZ.
