Jenson Button, the 2009 Formula One champion and driver for the McLaren-Mercedes Formula One team, has parted ways with his 1978 Ferrari 512BB. The berlinetta will be auctioned by Bonhams at an event scheduled for April 11 at the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon, a northwestern suburb of London.

McLaren officially introduced its MP4-12C sports car this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the annual celebration of automotive history held on a country estate in West Sussex, England.
Contrasting with trade-show debuts, the 12C’s reveal was not preceded by a company executive’s teleprompter-aided speech, a high-stepping dancing routine or a languorous pulling-back of the gossamer by fashion models. Instead, Jenson Button, a driver for McLaren Mercedes’s team and 2009 Formula One champion, revved a 12C validation prototype up Goodwood Hill to The Sunday Times Supercar Paddock, where he posed for photos.
