Audi today released pricing for many of its 2010 model-year offerings, which are headed to authorized Audi dealerships to meet strong consumer demand.

Audi is adding a variety of new vehicles and product enhancements in its 2010 model year portfolio. Chief among the advances: Audi stands as the only automaker in the U.S. featuring efficient and performance-tuned FSI direct injection technology with all of its gasoline-powered engines. Audi will also offer navigation as standard equipment for a limited time on 2010 Audi A6 Premium Plus models. Tesla Says It Is Now Profitable

Tesla Motors attained a significant milestone in July when it achieved overall corporate profitability with approximately $1 million of earnings on revenue of $20 million.

Tesla reached overall corporate profitability while continuing to develop the all-electric Model S sedan and opening regional sales and service centers. Profitability arose primarily from improved gross margin on the Roadster 2, the second iteration of Tesla’s award-winning sports car.

Tesla shipped a record 109 vehicles in July and enjoyed a surge in new Roadster purchases. In the third quarter, the privately held company will make significant deliveries to European customers while expanding its presence in several countries. Continue reading Tesla Says It Is Now Profitable

Mazda ‘MX-5 Superlight version’ to Premiere in Frankfurt

MX-5 Superlight versionThe Mazda MX-5 Superlight version, a show car capturing the pure essence of the world’s most popular roadster, will see its world premiere at the 63rd Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be held from September 15 through 27, 2009.

After 20 years of global success, the Mazda MX-5 is the best-selling two-seat sports car in the world. At Frankfurt, Mazda will present a new take on its affordable roadster with an all-new show car, the Mazda MX-5 Superlight version, designed at Mazda’s studio in Frankfurt, Germany. A pure show car, it takes the lightweight technology that Mazda is famous for to a new level, improving driving performance, handling, fuel economy and CO2 emissions. This is combined with a radical exterior design requiring no windshield, and sporty chassis settings for pure roadster driving fun.

The new Mazda MX-5 Superlight version will be unveiled at Mazda’s press conference in Hall 3.1, Stand A7, on September15 at 12:45 local time.

New Ferrari California Revealed

The Ferrari California joins the Prancing Horse’s 8-cylinder family which has always been defined by power and performance. It also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment. The new Ferrari California will satisfy even the most demanding of owners in term of its superb vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure. The new model will be available exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. Both chassis and bodywork are aluminium, in line with the rest of the current range. Nissan Unveils ‘LEAF’ Electric Car

NISSAN LEAFNissan today unveiled the Nissan ‘LEAF’, a  new zero-emission car. Designed specifically for a lithium-ion battery-powered chassis, Nissan LEAF is a medium-size hatchback that comfortably seats five adults and has a range of more than 160km (100 miles) to satisfy real-world consumer requirements.

Slated for launch in late 2010 in Japan, the United States, and Europe, Nissan LEAF ushers in a new era of mobility – the zero-emission era. The car is the embodiment of Nissan’s radical, transformative vision for the future and the culmination of decades of investment and research.
